Hong Kong Prize Funding For the Redevelopment of the Academy of the Humanities

The Hongkong Prize is one of Asia’s premier awards, honoring scientists who have made outstanding contributions to global health and society. Each year, this highly competitive contest attracts thousands of applicants; winners receive both monetary prizes as well as access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities. Some finalists even risked their lives pursuing their passion – be it helping homeless adults with research or transforming human rights concepts into fine art concepts – proving to the world that we can have an impactful impact despite any challenges we might face.

Prize money has been increased across all classes, with an extra top-up for Premium Position Group horses (PPs) in Class Three, and a one million bonus to the first win by one in Class Two; both reflecting their importance to prize results and the racehorse industry as well as supporting local equestrian industry development. The Hong Kong Prize remains committed to supporting this growth of local horseracing.

Additionally, the HK Prize will give away a Public Vote Prize of HK$4,000 to the student with the most votes from the public at their award ceremony. Attending is invited in order to meet all finalists and vote on their favourite submissions.

HK Prize is providing funding to assist with the renovation and expansion of Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities’ new campus at North Point Government Offices, enabling it to offer more programs while increasing research, teaching, outreach and community service activities. Furthermore, these new premises will help the Academy expand its presence and grow its reputation.

Launch of this new facility is intended to encourage more scholars to pursue humanities-related fields and contribute to a better understanding of life in Hong Kong. The Academy will strive for excellence in its humanities programs; further solidifying itself as an academic hub within the region.

The Bank of China in Hong Kong sponsors a premier prize: the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize is an honour bestowed upon scientific researchers whose achievements have made significant contributions to global health or had an impactful effect on humanity. Open to researchers worldwide and selected through an objective process independent from sponsorship or special committee influence, this accolade can help boost career prospects while building pride in Hong Kong scientific communities; plus its prize money may encourage more people to become scientists!
