The Sidney Prize and the Yong Kim Memorial Prize in East Asian Law

Sidney Prize is an annual literary award given out by the Academy of American Poets to an author of short fiction. Winners receive both a cash prize and certificate from AAP; it was named after American poet Sidney Lanier who passed away in 1932, with past recipients such as Katherine Anne Porter and William Faulkner being featured among past winners. Awarded since 1948 by AAP; one of the most prestigious literary awards available today!

The Hillman Prize is an annual journalism award presented by the Sidney Hillman Foundation since 1946 for journalism that promotes social justice and public policy to advance common good. As a left-of-center organization, this honors journalists and writers who champion these goals. Led by prominent activists and labor union leaders such as Workers United president emeritus Bruce Raynor, among others.
